Are your gemstones natural?
Yes. Every gemstone sold by Aira Gems is a genuine natural gemstone unless clearly stated otherwise. We do not sell imitation or fake gemstones.
Are your gemstones treated?
Many natural gemstones receive industry-accepted treatments such as heat treatment to improve colour or clarity. Whenever a gemstone has received any known treatment, we clearly disclose it on the product page.
Do you sell lab-grown, synthetic, or artificial gemstones?
No. Aira Gems specialises exclusively in natural earth-mined gemstones. We do not sell laboratory-grown, synthetic, artificial, simulated, or imitation gemstones.
Every gemstone in our collection has been formed naturally over millions of years beneath the Earth’s surface and is carefully selected for its beauty, rarity, and authenticity.
We believe the true value of a gemstone lies in its natural origin, uniqueness, and geological history. That’s why we are committed to offering only genuine natural gemstones with full transparency regarding any industry-accepted treatments, such as heat treatment where applicable.
Are your gemstones ethically sourced?
Yes. We operate our own mining projects in Sri Lanka and also work directly with trusted miners and suppliers who share our commitment to ethical sourcing. We do not support child labour or illegal mining.
Where do your gemstones come from?
Most of our gemstones originate from Sri Lanka, one of the world’s most respected sources of fine sapphires, spinels, zircons and many other precious gemstones.
Some gemstones are responsibly sourced from other producing countries depending on availability.
Authenticity & Certification
Are your gemstones certified?
Many gemstones valued above £100 include an independent laboratory certificate. Some gemstones are certified by internationally recognised laboratories, while others are certified by respected Sri Lankan gem laboratories operated by GIA Alumni gemologists.
Can I request certification?
Yes. If your selected gemstone does not already include a certificate, we can arrange independent certification before shipping. Additional charges and processing time may apply.
How can I verify my certificate?
Many certificates include QR code verification or unique report numbers that can be checked directly with the issuing laboratory.

Why does the gemstone look different in person?
Natural gemstones react differently under sunlight, LED lighting and indoor lighting. This is completely normal and one of the unique characteristics of natural gemstones.
Do you provide videos?
Yes. Many gemstones include videos, and additional videos can be provided upon request.
